The folk of the Copper Coast
continued to be entertained and
informed at the Ideal, through the
years of the depression and Second
World War.
Following the expiration of the lease
to the Clifford Circuit in 1944 and
its subsequent sale to Greater Union
Theatres, the lease was transferred to
G.U. on the 19 March, 1947, however
th
for legal reasons the Clifford Circuit
name was retained as exhibitor.
The freehold of the property was sold
to the United Insurance Company
in December 1953. Later, on the 1
st
January, 1956 G.U. entered into a new
10 year lease.
