A 3-Dimensional proscenium was built with a battery operated motor for the curtains, which worked well until the
batteries started to die, thus slowing the opening and closing of the cu1tains. Time once again demanded a more expan-
sive treatment of the Grosvenor, and as space was limited, what other option was there but. to put the house on the
market? A pitch-black room containing a proscenium arch proved not to be a big selling point! Luckily, a buyer with the
imagination to realjse that the room could once again be stripped and returned to the proper function of a living room was
finally forthcoming, and the Grosvenor was on the move again.

Soon after moving to my new home. I was fortunate to come across a company dedicated to the design concept and
installation of "home cinema" Within a very limited space, Anthony Bladen of "Hollywood Ln Melbourne" met the
challenge of designing and installing The New Grosvenor. By pure genius of making the most of every available inch of
the room (Including an old Chimney) Anthony has created an auditorium seating 8 people, with an amazing feeling of
             space and atmosphere.

Laser disc and DVD is now projected onto a Da-Lite wall mounted screen from a ceiling mounted Digital Projection
Monitor. Sound is processed through the new Yamaha DSP-A I Cinema Processor/Amplifier - the most sophisticated and
versatile Cinema product available. It incorporates a 7 channel amplifier delivering 110 Watts RMS into five channels
and 35 Watts RMS to each of the back effect speakers. Processing includes Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro-Logic. It
is recognised as the worlds best flagship A/V Amplifier, and has a possible 42 surround settings. The sound is truly
             awesome.

Wall-to-wall red velour curtains and bulkhead cover the screen, and electric motorised curtain tracks ensure precise
travel time of the tabs. A very theatrical Axrninster carpet has been laid, and colour schemes were chosen to compliment
this carpet. 8 new tip-up seats, an over-run of re-seating of an auditorium at Monash University, have also been installed.

A warm welcome is extended to all CATHS members and friends who may wish to enjoy the expelience of the Grosvenor
             Cinema.
