       I have been able to trace a picture show in  While Hughes was operating Saturday nights,
       Oakleigh as far back as 1892 with a Mr.  W  Lemax Moving Pictures were operating
       Edwards presenting “a grand Optical Lantern  Wednesday nights with “WKH ODWHVW ¿OPV  FRPLF
       Entertainment with the new and powerful  drama, comedy, scenery and instructional –
       Oxy-ether Limelight”.  The show featured the  adults 6d children 3d”.

       In January 1912, the  Mechanics Institute’s
       Annual Meeting reported that the past year  In 1919 the Mechanics Hall accepted a tender
