opened in March 2007. It is operated
by Cineplex Australia, a family-owned
company who operate three other sites
in Brisbane. They are:
The Balmoral Cineplex, a six-
screen complex built around the former
historic Bulimba Avro Theatre. The
1920s façade of the original theatre is
still visible today. The former Avro
auditorium is now designated as

experience. The side walls are all white

the auditorium with constantly
changing tones. The cinema appears to
completely change colour every 30
seconds. This is the second largest
auditorium seating 366 and features one
of Brisbane’s largest screens at 20m
wide. It has recently had a digital 3D
system added so it can screen 35mm,
2K Digital and 3D Digital. The cinema
screen was also designed for the
(Digital) Imax format but at present is
not equipped.
