Worthy of the Regent Name...
Wall reliefs in the foyers were refreshingly
different to those in earlier Hoyts’
Regents. Plaster decoration was credited
to the Modern Art Co. North Melb.
Dome above the main staircase; typical
of the craftsmanship throughout.
The chandelier is a recent addition.
What a surprise! This elegant 1927 stage
setting shows that the proscenium update
of 1937 (top, next page) was a case of
change for change sake.
