The Bendigo Advertiser and its companion paper The Bendigo Miner invited school
children to think about what they liked best about Bendigo, draw it, and submit it
as a design for a Bendigo postage stamp.
The images were diverse, but among the obvious choices - the cathedral, trams,
poppet heads, the Alexandra fountain and parks - one will be of interest to our
readers, the doors of the Bendigo Cinemas. This entry is unlikely to become the
stamp, but we might have a CATHS President in the making.
