Designed by Peter Mills and Associates (Peter Mills, Ruth Hocking and Craig Gorman), the design of KINO
Cinema 3 reflects the high standards set by Cinema One and Two. There are 128 ergonomically designed
seats offering the ultimate in comfort. A state-of-the-art sound system. together with soundproof walls, make
for superb acoustics. Colour and custom-designed features in the entrance foyer and proscenium have been
designed to enhance the moviegoing experience.

Kino Expands By Popular Demand By Damien Woolnough
Since opening in 1987 the Kino has become one of Melbourne audiences' favourite destinations for quality
movies.
The problem is that the cinema's popularity has led to hundreds being turned away from marvelling at Gerard
Depardieu's nose in Cyrano de Bergerac or laughing at the bizarre love triangle of The Wedding Banquet.
The Kino has solved this dilemma by opening a third cinema in the Collins Place complex which seats 126 and
will allow more movies to be chosen for screening, as well as extended seasons for favorites.
Idol Gossip is also happy to hear that the seats in the new theatre are of the same ergonomic design as those
in cinema one and two, which are the most comfortable in Melbourne. (Herald Sun. Thursday, March 31. 1994)
Eating Studios Revived April Issue - Cinema Papers
The British film industry is rallying around the rebirth of on of its best loved production houses, Ealing
Studios, which in its heyday was a flagship of the industry producing some of the world's best loved movies
such as A Run For Your Money (1949), Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949). Passport To Pimlico (1949) and
Whisky Galore (1949). The BRBRK Group, a property and scenery company, recently bought the site of the
studio from the BBC. which had used it for many years to produce television programmes. BRRK pledged to
rekindle its film studio status.
The new Ealing Studio Productions is seeking capital with the aim of producing six feature films per year.
The venture has the support of the industry and the British Film Commission is also behind the new studio.
The aim of the new studio is not to try and recapture a bygone era, said Alan Latham, the Managing Director
of the new company. What we have to do is try and ensure that whatever we do is in the best tradition of
Ealing Studios. Ealing Studios is in the hearts of a lot of people. We need to be aware of our responsibility
to the history of Ealing Studios, but we cannot rely on past glories for our future success. What we have to
aim for is quality.
