End of an Era
The Paramount Theatre would show Douglas Garland Rattray passed away
its last film on 30 October 1965. Mr on December 15 , 1982.

Rattray said that...he regretted making
the decision but felt he had reached the The Paramount was demolished around
time of retirement. 1973 and the property sold in March
1977 to Austral Motors Holdings.
Competition from nearby Olympia
Theatre (revamped as the Crest Cinema), The land became part of a used car
as well as the new Skyway Drive-In yard and is still used as such today with
Theatre and rural television didn’t help! Bundaberg Motor Group utilising the
site which once housed this historic and
much loved building. H
