(Above) Century, Dunedin
Opened as The Grand in 1915, it became the Century
from 28 May 1948. It was closed by Hoyts on September
23 1993, the day before they opened Hoyts 6 in the
Octagon. With no heritage protection for a beautiful gothic-
style building, the new owner demolished the theatre
overnight. The site is now a car park.

Baptist Church.
Opened on the 29th of September 1995 with the name
changed to Regent On Manners in March 2003 when
additional screens opened. It was closed on 19th of August
2009 for conversion to shops and apartments.
