Exhibitors who installed Western Electric’s Mirrophonic Sound system,
which became available in 1937, displayed a metal plaque on the wall
from the company to show that their theatre had upgraded to the latest and best.
According to the company the system ‘faithfully reproduces in all their original tonal values
every sound effect that can be put on the sound track in the studios’.
