What the...?!!
An occasional page to highlight foibles, absurdities and oddities of the cinema and theatre world,
or to show the truth of the adage, There is nothing new….!
So product placement has become an issue, especially in the James Bond films?
If this advertisement is any guide to the actual film content,
then extolling the virtues of a product hit a high way back.
A likely explanation is that the film made no visual reference to MobilOil;
a Depression-era attempt to share costs on newspaper advertising.
