Ring of Fire Engulfs Roxy By Trevor Walters
A great Saturday night was had by
all who attended the screening of
'Ring of Fire' ar the Roxy Theatre
in early April.

A good crowd was in attendance to
view this MGM attraction that
originally screened at the Hoyts Ring
Lyceum Theatre in December
1961. 0.,
Starring David Janssen (TV's 'The
Fugitive') as a police officer in a
small American town who with his
partner arrests three teenage
suspects of armed robbery. The l=ire
tables are turned and Janssen and
his partner become hostages of the NOT SUITABLE:

forest in an attempt to evade the

A huge forest tire breaks out and
this leads to :1 thrilling, suspenseful
conclusion.
At the time 'Ring of Fire' was made.
David Janssen was best known to
audiences as TV's 'Richard Diamond.
Private Eye'. a very successful series of the
time.
'Ring of Fire' was made by Andrew and
Virginia Stone who also made 'The Last
Voyage· a year earlier in 1960, also
released by MGM.
Many thanks to Ken Tulloch for presenting

brought many people to the screening. I'm
sure Ken would present a repeat
perfom1ance if demand is high.
