C. A. T. H. S. ARCHIVES by Gerry Kennedy
The compilation of archival material has finally commenced albeit a modest start. A considerable number of
newspaper and magazine clippings and articles have been copied and stored in A3 folders. Some theatre
programmes and memorabilia have also been filed.
A start has been made on the "Cinema Files". Some photos (mostly present day) have been obtained and
"rough" desctiptive details have been recorded. The committee has approved a modest budget to copy for
photos for our archives.
If you have any old theatre photos (interiors and exteriors) please make them available for copying. This is the
only way we can build up our historical records.
The evidence of our humble beginnings will be available at the February meeting. It is our intention to have
archival material available at most meetings for the inspection of members and visitors. It is pleasing to report
that some members are showing an interest in writing about their local or favourite Victorian theatres.
Thanks to the following members for their recent contributions:-
Alan Windley Newspaper clippings on the Regent, Collins Street, and the Grand Footscray.
