This comparison of the two large theatres does not mention Prospect’s
third theatre, which still stands. The Rechabite Hall, on the corner of
Prospect Road and Albert Street, built in 1929, was operating as an
independent theatre from approximately 1945, and seated 350. It was
known as The Circle, outlasted the much larger Ozone and was
screening on Saturday nights until 1964. ★
