CATHS AT THE ASTOR Sunday 26 March 2017
About 60 CATHS members, together with members of the Prahran Mechanics Institute (PMI), enjoyed a morning at Melbourne’s
iconic ASTOR THEATRE in St. Kilda.
Our hosts for the morning were Palace Cinemas founder, Antonio Zeccola and the Astor manager, Zak Hepburn. The master of
ceremonies was CATHS member, Brian Hunt, who conducted a wide-ranging question and answer session with Mr. Zeccola.
Questions ranging from his early days in Australia to the price of cinema admission were all answered by Mr. Zeccola.
Following a refreshment break, the three formats which the Astor is equipped to screen were demonstrated on the large screen:
35 mm film, 70 mm film and digital.
