Trams On Screen and Rails
It was FULL HOUSE at the Crest
Bendigo for the Saturday 5 April
matinee on Bendigo, Melbourne and
New Zealand tramway systems. Next
day the over-nighters boarded a Birney
car for a trip that included a tour of the
depot and the expanded workshops.
The complex is now home to trams
from Hobart, Melbourne (including
examples from the former Victorian
Railways system) and from Brisbane.

restoration and décor improvements
build on the work of the former owners
and are a credit to Dennis David and
Stephen Walsh, a management team
with years of cinema experience.
Following the regular Saturday
night show, at which we had the best
seats in the circle, our party was treated
to a selection of well chosen shorts
followed by a scrumptious ‘country
supper’ laid out in the stalls.
Many thanks to the owner/operators
Dennis and Stephen for another
memorable evening.
