RMIT Griffin Exhibition
The RMIT Gallery presents an exhibition of the archi-
tectural drawings, plans and models, interior detailing
furniture and photographs wl1ich present the Australian Clifton Hill Theatre - June 1999
work of the esteemed architects, Marion Mahony and
Walter Burley Griffin.
Bltildings featured include Newman College, University
of Melbourne, the Capitol Theatre in Swanston Street,
and the Cafe Australia.
This timely exhibition marks the recent purchase by RMIT
University of the Capitol Theatre, the planned refurbish-
ment of which is an example of RMIT University's com-
mitment to the cultural life of the City of Melbourne
through responsible management of historical architec-
tural assets.
