Belgrave Original Cameo looks like being demolished. Two cinemas to be built on the site.
Boronia Fourth screen added to Century Cinema.
Burwood 25 screen Burwood Community Cinema Centre to be built on corner of Burwood Hwy and
Middleborough Road, on the RSPCA and Nubrik site.
Coburg Third screen added to drive-in. Opened in December 1995.
East Malvern Waverley reopened 31/12/95 as ABC Royal Theatre, a functions centre.
Fountain Gate Village proposal for an 8-10 cinema complex.
Geelong Original 1913 facade brightly restored. Twin is now an 11-plex. Opened on 14/12/95.
Greensborough Hoyts 8 opened on 7/12/95.
Melbourne State/Forum recently used for the Montsalvat Jazz Festival.
Melbourne There is now a rumour that the Casino or Carlton Gardens Museum will house an I MAX.
Melbourne Lumiere now a twin.
Melton Third screen added 7/12/95.
Mornington Third screen added to cinema. in first week of January.
Richmond National Theatre sold for $1.35 million. To be converted to 3 shops and first floor offices.
Sorrento Athenaeum reopened, refurbished and modernised, a week before Christmas 1995.
South Yarra Village opened Jam Factory 8 on 22/11/95.
Wangaratta Cinema Centre triple opened in December 1995.
Wangaratta Drive-in is still operating in January 1996, despite prior rumours of closure.
Werribee Village 10 opened in December 1995.
Wodonga Plans for Wodonga $10 million Shopping Plaza includes 5 cinemas with 1200 seats total.
Yarraville Sun restoration well under way. Upstairs a Cinema, downstairs a workshop & showroom.
Hoyts currently owns 122 screens around Australia, 83 of them in multiplexes at 11 locations, and hopes to
build another 10 - 15 multiplexes in Australia over the next 3 - 4 years. Hoyts already owns 583 cinemas in USA
and 45 in New Zealand, and intends to expand into Mexico, Asia and South America. Plans are to increase the
number of screens in its Australia and overseas to 1500 by 1999.

November Visit to Rod's Pascoe Vale "Regent" theatrette.
